Suffolk student and pony win prestigious title in final ride together

An 11-year-old Suffolk school student and her pony are celebrating being named reserve champions at one of the country’s most famous equestrian locations.

In what was the last competition of their four-year partnership, Woodbridge School student Zara Lye and Brookhall Consort were named Reserve Champions in the Mountain and Moorland Event Pony class at the Burghley Event Pony and Mini Burghley Event Pony Finals on 2nd September.

The most prestigious riding event they’d placed in, and competing against over 29 finalists, made it a fitting end to Zara and Consort’s partnership which began when they were both seven.
