Para-drivers from Belgium, Germany, Holland and the USA are already showing interest in competing at the CAIB ‘World Championships warm-up event’ at Sandringham in 2013.
Organisers of the annual National Driving Trials at the venue are hoping to host the Para-Drivers’ World Championships in 2014. Of the German drivers, current World Champion Heiner Lehrter is among those looking to compete while three from the USA will be seeking to use loaned horses and carriages for the event next year (Friday 28th to Sunday 30th June). The competition will also host the British Para-Drivers Open National Championship with the Novice Championship incorporated in the East Anglia Carriage Driving Group’s two-day club event running alongside the main event.
