The Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials announces that its nominated charity for 2013 will be Macmillan. This is in recognition of former Event Secretary Juliette Brindley who died last year after a long fight against cancer.
“With 1 in 3 people suffering from cancer there are very few of us who are not touched, either directly or indirectly, with those we love being affected,” said Event Director Mandy Hervieu, “Macmillan nurses do so much to help those who suffer and their families and we know Juliette thought very highly of them”. As well as having the charity nominated in Juliette’s honour, the Organising Committee will also be awarding a cup in her memory for the most stylish combination at the final horse inspection and who completes the competition.
