Digestive Health: Sand Colic and Impaction

Is your horse a ticking time bomb?

Over the last three years the UK has experienced a series of exceptional weather phenomena including the dry spring of 2011, the dry winter of 2011/12 and the very wet summer, autumn and winter of 2012. 2013 has been marked by a very wet start to the year. As a result there has been a significant increase in the number of reported cases of equine gastric sand impaction and sand colic in the East of England. This special report highlights the risks and explains how to prevent both conditions.
