Join the staff and horses at Redwings Horse Sanctuary for a fantastic weekend at the charity’s headquarters in Hapton, south of Norwich on the weekend 13th and 14th July from 10am to 4pm.
This beautiful site in the heart of the Norfolk countryside is not normally open to the public, but will be ‘flinging wide its gates’ so visitors can see behind the scenes. Best of all, entry is free of charge. This is a great chance to ‘rub noses’ with over 300 of the Sanctuary’s special rescued horses and ponies, and you can also visit the on-site horse hospital, take tours around the 350 acre site and watch displays from the handling and rehoming teams too. If it all gets a bit too exciting there will be a café and gift shop on site where you can grab a slice of cake and a rest but don’t linger too long or you may miss gorgeous orphaned foal Stephen having his dinner! There will be free children’s activities as well as a fantastic prize draw and donated tack sale, so there really is something for everyone! Dogs on leads are welcome too. Chief Executive Lynn Cutress said: “This year has been an exciting one for Redwings in Norfolk as we opened our fourth visitor centre in North Norfolk recently, and our 30th anniversary year is fast approaching too. This is a chance for the public to come and see what happens at our headquarters, from where we manage everything we do nationally to help horses. Everything we do is only possible thanks to the kindness of our supporters so this is a chance for us to express our heartfelt thanks.” Visit www.redwings.co.uk or call 01508 481000
