Seasonal Transition

The last few weeks the mornings have become a little cooler and the hot weather for many of us is now a rapidly fading memory. The good news is that the hot and mainly dry Summer should mean that there will be plenty of good hay around this Winter, in contrast to last year, and good straw for those who use it for bedding. The changing day length and change in weather have many potential effects on our horses’ behaviour, health and welfare.

Dr David Marlin, an expert in the field of equine nutrition and training discusses this topic in depth.
