Suffolk-based riding instructor and livery yard owner Julia Woods celebrated her birthday by capturing one of three EquestrianClearance.com BE80(T) British Riding Club Championships at Brooksby Melton College Horse Trials with a top class performance throughout.
With more than 90 entries for the finals, held as part of the BE80(T) British Riding Club Eventing Championships, it was decided to run three sections at this popular event.
Julia was riding Kate Simmons’ seven-year-old Connemara gelding, St Flannans Aodhan. Also a member of the St Edmunds Riding Club, this has been their first season competing in British Eventing.Julia finished on her dressage score of 25.5 penalties, managing to keep hold of their lead by just one mark, with second place going to Bizzy Loffet and Theressomethingabout Bob.
