Special Report: Colic in Horses

Colic is a term used to describe a symptoms of abdominal pain, which in horses is usually caused by problems in the gastrointestinal tract (the intestines or hindgut). There are over 70 different types of intestinal problems that can cause colic type symptoms. Some non-intestinal conditions, such as Laminitis, bladder stones or problems affecting the reproductive tract, can also look like symptoms of colic.
