Breaking your pony to drive, in a many ways, is a lot like breaking your pony to ride; it can be done well, or it can be done very badly. However, where as a horse that misbehaves and has poor manners can still be ridden, when a carriage is involved it can be even more dangerous and go wrong very quickly.
