In our September issue we talk to Equithème sponsored International dressage rider Gaby Lucas, on developing leg yielding with a young horse.
Suffolk based Gaby, has a wealth of experience competing for Great Britain in the Pony, Junior and Young Rider European Championships and is now progressing up the levels in her dressage career.
Leg yielding can help to develop your horse’s lateral suppleness and is one of the most basic of lateral movements. The movement is particularly useful to young horses, helping them to develop their ability to move away from the leg effectively whilst ensuring that the rider uses the correct aids and leg positioning to influence the horse.
